Bank of America Charitable Foundation Grant
We are pleased to announce that the East Texas Crisis Center has been awarded a $2,500 grant for the Children's Prevention & Education Program. Bank of America Charitable Foundation has supported this program the past 4 years with total grants of $20,500.
The Children's Prevention & Education Program assists children who have fallen behind academically as a result of living in a home environment where they have witnessed or experienced family violence. The program is designed to foster emotional, physical, social and educational well-being of children ages 3 - 17.
Representatives of the local branch Bank of America presented the check on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. The grant was awarded through a competitive application and review process.
We thank Bank of America Charitable Foundation for the commitment to support this non-profit organization.
TransCanada Grant for the Children's Prevention & Education Program.
For the second consecutive year, the East Texas Crisis Center was awarded with grants from TransCanada for the Children's Prevention & Education Program. In 2012, the Center received $3,000 and in this year, we are happy to be the recipient of their $2,500 grant.
The East Texas Crisis Center provides services to victims of family violence and sexual assault at no cost and we place special emphasis that Early Intervention is the key to breaking the cycle of violence; EDUCATION is the means to promote long lasting change. In 2012, 191 women and 186 children lived in our emergency shelter, of the 186 children 68 were school-age children & 33 were age 3-5 participated in the After School Tutoring, Summer Camp, Early Childhood Education, Positive Parenting Practices, and Support Groups.

Once Again Tyler Ford generously donated a Classic Ford Mustang that was raffled off at the 2013 East Texas Auto and Cycle Show. The proceeds benefit The East Texas Crisis Center.

Pay It Forward Car Auction Success!
The "Pay It Forward Car" was auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona on Sunday January 24th. The winning bid was $42,000. All proceeds from the auction benefit the East Texas Crisis Center.
Mustangs of East Texas restored this amazing 1966 Mustang.
